General Liddell

General Liddell is a military general in Maris, the strange kingdom at the heart of the tale of Kyle and Anna. Those two Odyssey children fall into that other world while exploring a ruined house in the woods. Their adventure is preserved in an old notebook from 1958, which later surfaces in a dusty attic and comes into Whit's hands. Liddell holds his rank during a turbulent age for Maris, when the jealous King Lawrence rules and the people's love belongs to the young hero general Darien. Liddell is a distinctive figure, marked by a handlebar mustache and a scar on his cheek.
