Valerie Swanson

Valerie Swanson is a scheming schoolgirl in Odyssey and the older sister of Nelson. She is a two-faced queen bee who charms, flatters, and manipulates to get what she wants. Her plots range from petty pranks against a teacher to blackmail, staged accidents, and a plan to seize a town office by suing over damage she secretly arranged herself. She preys on the vulnerable, sweet-talking Jules Kendall into a spending spree and later drawing her into cover-ups and worse. Beneath the confidence lie old wounds. She loves painting, but cruel words about her looks and talent still haunt her, feeding a deeper lie of worthlessness. She occasionally owns up when confronted, and once declares that she is loved, yet she rarely learns her lesson for long.
