Oscar Peterson

Oscar Peterson is a boy in Odyssey, best known as the loyal best friend and sidekick of boy detective Jack Davis. He has dyslexia, which makes him see letters and words backwards, so spelling and schoolwork come hard to him. Classmates once mistook this for dullness, but Oscar is kind-hearted and quick to forgive those who mock him. He has a big brother, Tony, and a little brother. He spends much of his time at Whit's End, where he joins daily Bible study alongside Connie Kendall and once pushed mowers for Robyn Jacobs' lawn business. Easygoing and easily talked into schemes, he has been dragged on stakeouts by Jack and onto the school newspaper by Curt Stevens, taking each mishap in stride.
