Mary (b)

Mary is the mother of Jesus and the wife of Joseph, a carpenter. When a census crowded Bethlehem to bursting, she arrived in the town as Joseph's betrothed, on the point of giving birth. With not one room left anywhere, Joseph begged for somewhere warm and dry. She delivered her baby in a stable that was really a cave, while Connie Kendall, visiting through the Imagination Station, hauled water and fetched rags. Mary later cared for the child in a little house in Bethlehem, where Connie helped her and magi bowed before him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. At the temple, an old man declared her son the Messiah for the whole world - words that reached the ears of King Herod himself.
