Gaspar
Gaspar is one of the three magi, wise men from the days after the very first Christmas. Travelers from Whit's End encounter him through the Imagination Station, which carries its riders back to Bethlehem in the time of King Herod. With his two companions he followed the star across the desert in search of a newborn king. When Eugene fell in with the group and insisted the child was in Bethlehem rather than Jerusalem, the magi refused to believe him. They went first to Jerusalem, where Herod directed them on to Bethlehem. There the star blazed over a little house, and Gaspar and his fellow wise men bowed before the baby Jesus, offering gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
