Joseph (b)

Joseph is a carpenter, the husband of Mary, and the father of Jesus. He lives in the days of the first Christmas, so visitors from Odyssey meet him only through Whit's Imagination Station. Connie and Eugene first found him weary and desperate in census-crowded Bethlehem. He was begging for anywhere warm and dry, since Mary, his betrothed, was about to have her baby, and not one room was left in town. The family sheltered in a stable that turned out to be a cave, and there the child was born. Joseph freely admits how impossible his story sounds, with its angels and dreams, yet he stands by every word. God warns and guides him through dreams, and he acts on them to keep Mary and the child safe.
