Grady McKay

Grady McKay is a young boy in Odyssey who comes from a poor family. He lives in a small apartment with his mother, Kristi, and his little sister, Samantha. His father walked out on the family, and money is always short. Grady often has to look after his sister while his mother works. He is wary and slow to trust, especially church people, but fiercely loyal once won over. His closest friend is Wooton, the cheerful mailman, who reaches him with patience, Power Boy comic books, and a treehouse they build together. Wooton becomes something like a father to him in his dad's absence. Beneath Grady's mischief and quick temper runs a generous streak - he will risk a dangerous climb to rescue a stuffed lamb, or try to take in a homeless man from the park.
