Kenneth Anderson
Kenneth Anderson, known for most of his life as Kent Wakefield, is a troubled young stranger who walked into Whit's End insisting he once lived in a house exactly like it. He knows secrets about the building, such as its hidden servants' staircase, that no visitor should know. As a small boy he lived in the Tate House, the mansion Whit's End was copied from. A fire destroyed that house more than twenty years ago, killing his mother when Kenneth was three. He grew up believing both his parents had died. In truth his father, Steven, survived the fire, and James Wakefield, the man posing as Kenneth's uncle, hid the boy away to steal the family fortune. His intense manner unsettles Connie Kendall, but Whit and Lucy work to uncover who he really is.
