Dale Jacobs

Dale Jacobs is the editor of the Odyssey Times, the town newspaper, and a friend of John Avery Whittaker. He lives in Odyssey with his wife Ann and their two daughters, Robyn and Melanie. As a father he is firm but fair. He holds his girls to their promises, insists on honesty when a lie starts to grow, and admits his own faults - including a habit of running late himself. His clashes with Robyn, such as their fight over a rock band's tape, usually end in apology and a hug. At the paper he prints stories that matter, from a reluctant war hero's confession to a long-buried apology from an old classmate. He is steady in a crisis, once even helping Jason Whittaker evade capture in London.
