Lucy Cunningham-Schultz is a young girl in the town of Odyssey and a fixture at Whit's End, where John Avery Whittaker often helps her think through hard choices. She is a cub reporter for her school newspaper, the Odyssey Owl, and is always on the hunt for a story. Her digging sometimes leads her astray, but she owns her mistakes, once writing a painful retraction after printing a false scoop. Lucy is honest and conscientious, something of a goody-two-shoes, with a Christian faith she refuses to compromise even when a grade is on the line. She is a loyal friend to Isaac Morton, Curt Stevens, and Sam Johnson, and she has a habit of reaching out to lonely newcomers whom others avoid.
