Kent Wakefield

Kent Wakefield is a mysterious young man who arrives at Whit's End insisting that he lived in an identical building as a child. He knows about a concealed servants' staircase and other details no casual visitor should recognize. Kent says his parents died when he was small, yet public records appear to contain no trace of him. A man claiming to be his uncle warns Whit that Kent is mentally unwell, but old blueprints and newspapers support pieces of Kent's memory. His search leads toward the burned Tate House, a missing hospital file, and a family tragedy someone has worked hard to conceal. Frightened, intense, and desperate to understand his past, Kent risks danger because living without the truth has become impossible.
