The Labyrinth

Framed as a traitor and hunted by the police, Jason Whittaker follows the villain Grote's trail to Julius House, a London auction business selling rare Asian artifacts. Then a worker collapses after opening a damaged crate, and Jason discovers what the shipments really hide: Koflax, a stolen Russian bacteria that could kill hundreds in an enclosed building. That very evening, the President, the Prime Minister, and leaders from across Asia will gather at the British Museum - exactly where Grote plans to release it. Jason holds one card: the Alamo, a secret program already spreading through Grote's computer network, set to hand every file to the law at midnight, its codes hidden where even Jason himself can't find them. But before he can stop the plot, Sue delivers him straight into enemy hands... and Grote ships him off to a warehouse, determined to force the hiding place out of him.

Dale and Sue safely return Jason's briefcase. It contains disguised surveillance tools and the coded instructions for Jason's last-resort computer program, which he calls the Alamo. He asks Ann to hide the codes somewhere even he cannot identify, ensuring that no captor can force him to reveal them.

Jason tells Dale and Ann about his long effort to stop Grote and the false evidence that now makes him look like a traitor. A careless remark from one of Reggie's men leads Ann to suspect that “Julia's house” actually means Julius House, an auction business selling rare Asian artifacts. Because Grote used an auction during the Green Ring scheme, they decide to investigate.

At Julius House, they notice that Lord Brownlow buys only the expensive, climate-controlled pieces shipped from a Russian company connected to Grote. Jason confronts him, only to learn that Brownlow is purchasing the artifacts for a special exhibition at the British Museum that evening. The President of the United States, the British Prime Minister, and leaders from several Asian countries will attend.

A worker named Craig Robinson collapses at the auction loading dock after opening a damaged crate. The building is evacuated because of a toxic substance. Sue, who has left the hotel to conduct her own investigation, saw Reggie and his men watching the delivery. She tells Jason that a hazardous-materials team removed the opened crate, but she saw no sign of the second one.

At Westminster Hospital, Agent Billings stops Jason before the police find him. The man who appeared on the van recording wore Jason's clothes, but Billings has not yet proved the deception. He reveals that Robinson inhaled Koflax, a deadly Russian laboratory bacteria stolen and shipped to London. As a dry airborne powder, it could kill hundreds in an enclosed building.

Jason realizes that Grote intends to release Koflax inside the British Museum during the gathering of world leaders. The supposed hazardous-materials team must have been Reggie's men, who took the crate themselves. Billings agrees to search the museum but refuses to cancel the event without more concrete proof.

Sue suddenly delivers Jason into Reggie's hands, and he awakens before Grote. Jason tells Grote that MI5 is searching the museum. He also reveals that the Alamo program has begun infecting Grote's worldwide computer network. At midnight it will transmit the network's files to law-enforcement agencies and then destroy the system. Because Jason does not know the cancellation code, Grote sends him to Reggie's warehouse to be forced into revealing where it is hidden.
