Jebidiah Skint

Jebidiah Skint was a career con man whose schemes repeatedly brought trouble to Odyssey. He raised Buck Oliver and trained the boy in the swindler's trade, insisting that conning was in Buck's blood. Smooth with strangers and cold with everyone else, he abandoned even Buck as bait for the police when it suited him. Skint served the Green Ring counterfeiting operation, working out of a traveling carnival while fake money moved through town, and he was not above framing innocent people to cover his tracks. Years later he resurfaced to hunt down papers left by Buck's mother, chasing a hidden will and the trust fund it unlocked. That pursuit ended when Secret Service agent Monty Whittaker arrested him with Buck's help. Skint died in a prison hospital, undone by one last escape attempt.
