Isaac Morton

Isaac Morton is a schoolboy in Odyssey, one of the brightest kids in his class and one of the least popular, a frequent visitor to Whit's End who takes John Avery Whittaker's lessons deeply to heart. Earnest to a fault, he throws himself headlong into becoming courageous, pure, benevolent, or chivalrous, usually bungling the attempt before landing on the real lesson. Smart as he is, he struggles to finish his schoolwork on time and is a hopeless speller. He is best friends with Lucy Cunningham-Schultz, admires the effortlessly popular Jack Davis, and treasures his friendship with Sam, whom he met through the Imagination Station. A favorite target of bully Rodney Rathbone, Isaac never feels brave - yet when it matters, he prays first and acts anyway.
