Edwin Blackgaard

Edwin Blackgaard is an actor and the owner of the Harlequin Dinner Theatre in Odyssey. He is the identical twin brother of Dr. Regis Blackgaard, the town's most notorious villain, yet he shares none of his brother's wicked inclinations. The resemblance still causes him trouble, since people who know Regis tend to distrust Edwin on sight. John Whittaker stands out for insisting that Edwin be judged by his own actions. Edwin himself is flamboyant, vain, and grandly theatrical. He is forever scheming to fill his seats, impress critics, and keep his often struggling theater afloat. He loves Shakespeare, particularly Hamlet, and lends his dramatic voice to radio productions and mock newscasts. His faithful assistant, Shakespeare, quietly handles the practical work his employer cannot manage alone.
