Marla Fenton
Marla Fenton is the mother of Micah Fenton, a star receiver on a Baltimore high school football team. She is a protective parent with considerable social influence in her community, and she is not quick to extend trust. When Buck Meltsner, a new arrival who had taken Micah's starting spot, saw his sealed juvenile record spread across social media, Marla was unconvinced by his claims that he had changed. She quietly turned the town against him, and in the fallout Buck's mother, Katrina, was un-invited from the Booster Club. Marla's suspicion of Buck shows how firmly she guards her son's interests, even at the cost of a newcomer's reputation.
