Lexie Winters is a pastor's daughter in Baltimore and one of Buck Meltsner's friends there. Her faith runs through most of what she does. She drew Buck into volunteering with Delivering Biblical Blessings, a ministry in which teenagers help nursing home residents while donations send children in Burundi to school. Lexie has a firm moral compass and is willing to press it on others. When Chase, the boy Buck mentors, let Buck take the blame for vandalism Chase had committed, Lexie persuaded him that letting a good person accept his punishment was wrong, and Chase confessed. She shows the same persistence with Buck himself, urging him toward church and faith even when he resists.
