Xavier Washington

Xavier Washington is Ed Washington's nephew, a teenager who stays with Ed's family in Odyssey and is treated as one of their own. As the older cousin of Marvin and Tamika, he enjoys privileges they envy - late nights out, fancy coffee, scary movies - though he is still learning that bigger freedoms come with bigger responsibility. Xavier is an encouraging presence for Marvin, patiently drilling him in fielding and hitting and reminding him that a team needs runners as much as heroes. A fan of reality television with a flair for performing, he teams up with his friend Nick on a comic sword-fighting act, and their partnership works best when neither tries to be the boss. Loyal at heart, he values his family - Ed, Elaine, and his cousins - above easy money.
