Elaine Washington

Elaine Washington is the wife of Ed Washington and the mother of Marvin and Tamika. Their household in Odyssey also makes room for the children's older cousin, Xavier. Elaine is a woman of steady faith. When Ed weighs giving up a secure toy-company career to run a shop for children, her trust in God's leading helps him take the leap. She is the family's organizer, capable of laminating a minute-by-minute Sunday schedule, and a firm parent who grounds her kids when they misbehave. But her warmth outweighs her rules.
