Laura Schmidt

Laura Schmidt is the mother of Danny Schmidt and lives in Odyssey with her husband and son. She and her husband raise Danny in a devoutly Christian home with firm, loving rules. The family prays together at dinner, attends church, and keeps one standing rule about movies: Danny must always ask first before watching one. Laura also expects her son to keep his word. When Danny takes up a new pursuit, she and her husband hold him to his promise to stick with it. Their faith reaches beyond their own front door as well. On one occasion the couple spent an evening with a troubled neighboring family, telling them how Jesus changes lives - a visit that soon brought that family to church.
