Danny Schmidt
Danny Schmidt is a young boy living in Odyssey, where he is a familiar face at Whit's End. Earnest but excitable, he has a knack for landing in trouble and for wearing on the patience of the people around him. He is friends with Brooke, whose invitations to baseball, soccer, and the latest comic books can pull him away from whatever he has promised to do. His parents hold him to firm rules and expect him to keep his word. Danny once abandoned karate, gymnastics, and swimming, but he learned to stick with the piano through steady daily practice. When fear, jealousy, or resentment gets the better of him, Whit is usually the one who helps him find his way through.
