Dirk Beggs

Dirk Beggs is a small-time con man who operates on the shady fringes of Odyssey. He is the father of Chase, the boy mentored by Buck Meltsner, and he longs to regain custody of his son. Beggs first arrived in town as a passenger aboard Jebidiah Skint's small plane, which crashed at the edge of Odyssey. He slipped into the woods and turned up at Wally Haggler's junkyard, where he pulled a gun and admitted he worked for a shadowy criminal called the Stiletto. Injured, he was later found there by Detective Polehaus. He told the detective how a fight on the plane sent a bag, a bullet, and the pilot's control tumbling out of the sky. His later schemes included fleecing nursing-home residents with a fake charity.
