Phil Phillips

Phil Phillips is a con artist who comes to Odyssey posing as a marketing expert from Chicago. He claims Whit's End is failing and presents expensive plans that merely give its familiar attractions louder names. He would turn the train set into the Fireball 5000, rename the Imagination Station the Thriller Thruster, and call the shop the Raw Metal Power Push Starcade. Whit checks Phil's supposed credentials and discovers that Chicago police know him as Phil the Flim Flam Man. Phil's cheerful confidence, invented expertise, and fondness for impressive labels help him deceive small-town business owners. His scheme demonstrates that changing a name never changes what lies underneath it.
