BEAVRS

BEAVRS is a talking computer at Whit's End that combines Bible research with pictures and sound. Whit uses the machine to help Connie Kendall explore the names of God, including Elohim, Adonai, Elah, and Yahweh. Its presentation guides her through biblical accounts involving creation, Abraham, Daniel, Moses, and Jesus. The machine does not always work perfectly. When BEAVRS breaks down during Marsha's research into the book of Daniel, Eugene works to repair it while Bernard tells the story himself. The newly repaired computer then responds to a question about the fiery furnace by reciting "Mary Had a Little Lamb," adding an unintended joke to an otherwise serious lesson.
