Wyatt Perkins

Wyatt Perkins is a young boy in Odyssey, the son of a Marine deployed thousands of miles overseas, living at home with his mother, Carla, and his teenage sister, Bridget. Earnest, imaginative, and more than a little lonely, Wyatt throws himself into ambitious projects - homemade gadgets, survival skills, even a schoolyard insurance business - and has a habit of talking himself up as knowing more than he actually does. He takes his father's absence seriously, appointing himself the family's protector and man of the house, and he peppers grown-ups like John Whittaker and Wooton Bassett with endless questions about life and the Bible. He is devoted to Bridget, working tirelessly to stay close to her, and counts the Parker kids and Jay Smouse among his friends.
