Peter Bourland

Peter Bourland is an FBI agent who works to bring down the Novacom corporation and its criminal operations. He has authority over Robert "Mitch" Mitchell, the young agent whom Connie Kendall loves, and at one point pulls Mitch off an investigation. Away from the Bureau, Bourland is a well-meaning but distracted father living in Virginia. His daughter Michaela insists on being called Mike, memorizes sports scores for him, and hides her outgrown ballet shoes. She once overheard him say he had wanted a boy, and has been playing the son she believes he wished for. When Connie brings this to his attention, Bourland finally sees his daughter clearly. He tells her she is loved for who she is, not what she does, and the family returns to building their treehouse together.
