AREM

AREM is a mysterious computer hacker whose identity is one of Odyssey's most closely guarded secrets. Known only by a screen name, AREM works through the town's computers, appearing without warning and vanishing just as quickly. Early on, this stranger eggs Alex and Cal into sneaking onto a college computer system with stolen codes, an escapade run through a hidden modem planted under the rug in Whit's office. Later, AREM feeds the kids passwords and secret files exposing the schemes of the Novacom corporation, and tips them off to hidden cameras planted inside Whit's End. Sarah, Alex, and Cal puzzle over who the hacker could be, while Whit himself pursues the trail. AREM stays elusive, helpful yet untrusted, and always one step ahead.
