Liz Horton

Liz Horton is a schoolgirl in Odyssey with a sharp tongue, boundless curiosity, and a knack for landing in the middle of things. Once known for gossip and mean-spirited teasing, she softens over time, though her impulsiveness and stubborn streak never quite disappear. Her detective instincts and lively writing earn her a place on the school newspaper, the Odyssey Owl, where she chases everything from rigged cheerleading votes to an undercover beauty-pageant exposé. Her closest friendship is with Mandy Straussberg - a bond tested by quarrels and jealousy but strong enough to survive them - and she adores her older brother Mark, a soldier in the Army. A regular at Whit's End, Liz learns many of her hardest lessons through Whit's inventions, including the Room of Consequence.
