Jared deWhite

Jared DeWhite is a boy in Odyssey with a suspicious mind and total confidence in his own theories. He sees conspiracies everywhere. A girls' club, the garbage collectors, even a gift of twenty-five dollars can look to him like part of a secret plot. He is a regular at Whit's End, where Whit patiently untangles his wild conclusions and points him toward the truth. Jared loves spy gear and investigations, and he pursues each new case with schemes, disguises, and hidden recorders. His accusations sometimes hurt innocent people, and he has had to learn hard lessons about revenge, honesty, and hogging the glory. Still, his detective work occasionally uncovers real trouble, such as a friend's family quietly in crisis. His best friend and frequent partner in these missions is Dwayne Oswald.
