Connie Kendall

Connie Kendall was born in Los Angeles and comes to Odyssey as a teenager after her parents' divorce, planning only to earn bus fare back to California. Instead, she stays. She works the soda fountain at Whit's End, the ice cream shop run by John Avery Whittaker, where she also hosts Kids' Radio programs and leads Bible studies for the town's kids. Whit is her boss, mentor, and dearest friend, and it is with him that she kneels to become a Christian. She squabbles constantly with her scholarly coworker Eugene Meltsner, though the two are devoted to each other. Warm, talkative, and stubborn, Connie has a habit of running late, and her curiosity often gets the better of her. She loves the people of Odyssey, and they love her back.
