Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin is an American founding father and inventor who lived and died long before Odyssey's time. Children from the town meet him through the Imagination Station and in Revolutionary-era dreams. In one such adventure he escorted young Irwin Springer into the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, where Irwin watched the colonies vote for independence. Afterward Irwin could have sworn Franklin looked exactly like Whit. Franklin proves to be a flawed patriot rather than a spotless hero. He once secretly published a governor's private letters, and when a duel and riots followed, he vowed to confess before anyone else got hurt. He also silently endured public mockery in London for the sake of his colonies, a quiet sacrifice that helps young visitors see greatness in imperfect people.
