Ashley Jenkins

Ashley Jenkins is a talented young athlete in Odyssey, the daughter of former mayor Bill Jenkins and a friend of Colby, Trent, and Liz Horton. Where Liz stumbles through tryout after tryout, Ashley seems to shine at whatever she attempts, from cheerleading - where she earns a well-deserved spot on the school squad - to sports on the diamond. Playing for the Odyssey Panthers, she can deliver a game-winning home run, and her softball pitching is sharp enough to draw the notice of college scouts. She trains under Coach Tom Riley, who pushes her hard because he believes she could play college ball - a demanding relationship that sometimes breeds misunderstanding, not helped by a protective father who is quick to take up her cause.
