Seth is Rhoda's father and a believer in the early church at Jerusalem. His family welcomes Matthew Parker after the Imagination Station places the boy among the first Christians. Seth owns a field that represents an important hope for his household, yet he sells it so the money can help poor believers. His genuine generosity stands in contrast to Ananias, who wants praise for a gift he has not honestly made. Seth and his family experience both the joy and the disorder of the growing church. Through his costly choice, he shows Matthew that imperfect communities can still contain people who sincerely serve God and one another.
