Harry Parsons
Harry Parsons was a soldier in the 82nd Division during the First World War and one of Alvin York's friends. The men trained together at Camp Gordon before traveling to France, where artillery, snipers, and heavy losses drew the unit together like a family. Harry found Alvin alive after an explosion killed their friend Robert Kosinsky. Later, he survived the attack on Hill 223 and helped Alvin escort 132 German prisoners through enemy lines. When an astonished officer questioned how so few Americans had captured so many men, Harry made sure Alvin received the credit. His steady presence connected Alvin's difficult training, grief, and extraordinary actions on the battlefield.
