Barry Lionel

Barry Lionel is a wealthy and powerful businessman in Pokenberry Falls, the small town where the Barclay family settled after leaving Odyssey. He owns a resort there and serves as head elder of the First Church of Pokenberry Falls, where George Barclay pastors. His loyalty to the church is thin. He regards the dwindling congregation as a lost cause and eyes its property as a fine addition to his resort's golf course. Lionel is used to getting his way. He can be blunt and mocking toward those who come to him for help, yet he respects a man who stands up to him. When George first sought the pastorate, Lionel demanded to know why he deserved the pulpit. George answered that God, not Lionel, was in charge of the town. Impressed, Lionel offered him the job on the spot.
