Melanie Jacobs

Melanie Jacobs is a young girl in Odyssey, the little sister of Robyn Jacobs and a regular at Whit's End, where she and Robyn listen to Bernard Walton's stories and enjoy the Imagination Station. The daughter of a busy newspaper editor and a gentle, perceptive mother, Melanie is earnest and tender-hearted, with a sincere childlike faith - she once pitched a tent in the backyard to wait for Jesus, Bible in hand. She keeps a diary, much to her regret when Robyn gets hold of it, and though she can plot a clever revenge, her conscience always catches up with her. A loyal friend, she reaches out to hurting girls like Monica Winters and her blind pen pal Jenny Roberts.
