Mary Hopkins

Mary Hopkins is the owner of Mary's Story Shop and a friend to John Avery Whittaker. She is a wise woman with a knack for seeing what others miss. When Whit fills his shop with flashy technology, she helps him recognize that he has traded friendship for gadgets. She then makes him a surprising offer - the chance to open a brand-new Whit's End in her own town of Connellsville. Mary works alongside Whit as that project takes shape, though the two do not always agree. She is practical and cautious where Whit is idealistic. When vandals strike the construction site, she urges him to abandon the troubled neighborhood entirely. She also arranges a security system for the new shop, ordering hidden cameras without Whit's knowledge.
