Jill Segler

Jill Segler is a young reporter in Odyssey and the investigative voice of Kidsboro, the town of clubhouses in the woods where children govern themselves. She has a nose for the truth and refuses to let a good story cover a bad lie. When Kidsboro's leaders fake a crime wave, she plants a recorder and exposes the scheme. She also helps a frightened Nelson Swanson capture Valerie's confession, then reminds voters of Mayor Ryan's honest character. Once, she walked away from a fight for the truth, and she has regretted it ever since. That regret drives her now. Offered a chance to smear Whit's End for the Odyssey Tribune, she refuses to write the lie. Instead she reports for The Whole Truth, a kids' newspaper Whit creates with her as its reporter.
