Dion Farkus

Dion Farkus is a school-age bully in Odyssey and a member of Vance King's gang, which he comes to lead himself. Sent to ruin Buck Meltsner's life, he instead finds Buck buying him lemonade and steadily winning him over. Buck later talks him out of running a rigged milk-bottle game at the town's Let's Get Together Festival. At school Dion torments Buddy Norman, cornering him in the cafeteria and daring him to explain his Bible in front of everyone. He gathers recruits like Gavin, though even Gavin eventually stands with Buddy instead. When Dion is caught red-handed opening lockers at Whit's End Middle School, young detective Emily Jones suspects he is only a puppet, acting for a cleverer mind hiding behind him.
