Astan Lebernis

Astan Lebernis is a charming but dangerously ambitious visiting professor at Campbell College in Odyssey. Beneath the polish, he covets Mr. Whittaker's Imagination Station and schemes to take it for himself. His most important relationship is with his student Renee Carter, whose talent he exploits rather than nurtures. When Renee built a gentle world called Whitonia inside a portable Imagination Station, Lebernis sneaked into it. He tricked her four-armed creations into unlocking forbidden knowledge, and the peaceful Whittonians split into warring sides and drove Renee from her own world. Where Whit encourages Renee's creativity, Lebernis deceives and manipulates, daring her to rely on no one but herself. He remains a scheming presence at the edges of her life in Odyssey.
