Agnes Riley

Agnes Riley is the wife of Tom Riley and lives at Hillingdale Haven. She struggles with severe depression, along with confusion and a fading memory. For years Tom quietly guarded her situation to protect her, visiting faithfully while the town knew nothing of her. She is a gentle, sweet-natured woman, and painting and the piano are dear to her. Her canvases often return to the same images - a train, a maple tree, a lake shore. Young Mandy befriends her and helps her sort through her past. That past includes a childhood camp friend named Jo, with whom Agnes made a lifelong pact, and whose faith led Agnes to Christ. Through everything, Tom's devotion to her remains steady, and their marriage endures her long illness.
