Cryin' Bryan Dern returned to the show two nights ago and promptly sent Eugene Meltsner home. Now there is only six castaways left on the island from the original sixteen, soon to be narrowed down to the final four. In the end, only one will go home the winner of "AIO Survivor".


Bernard, Jack, Jason, Blackgaard, Tom and Whit were hiking through the forest on their way to meet Bryan Dern. The rain from the previous days had stopped, and the weather was warm with the sun beating down on their backs. Dern had given little clue as to what their challenge was going to be, only to meet him at the base of Beauvois Peak, where their game would be waiting.

At three o'clock in the afternoon they reached their destination. Hanging down from the top of the twenty foot high cliff was a series of ropes, each of a different color. Along the face of the cliff were pegs that had been drilled into the surface, providing safety measures in case one was to climb the wall. Dern was standing next to the far right rope, with another of his classic smiles on his face.

"Well aren't we all happy this afternoon!" he chuckled to himself, "Fine day for climbing isn't it?"

"This is kind of dangerous, isn't it Dern?" Bernard asked looking at the ropes in front of him.

"Of course!" Dern said in a matter-of-fact sort of tone, "See, you've had it easy since I was gone. Holding your breath under water? Having a pie eating contest? Drawing names out of a sack!? I think it's time you guys really have the pressure put on you. And, what better way to deal with pressure then put you in a situation where you can injure not only yourself, but the people you're with? The object is simple. Be the first person to climb to the top of this cliff, and win the Immunity Necklace. You'll have the aid of the ropes that are here before you, and as you climb up the face of the cliff, you attach you're caribbeaner's to the pegs along the way. Any questions? Didn't think so, I wish you all the best of luck!"

The castaways reluctantly approached the ropes on the wall and after a quick prayer, they readied themselves for the challenge. The moment Dern's whistle blew, they began to race up the cliff holding on for their lives.

Jason was the strongest of the tribe and able to lift himself quicker then the rest, while Bernard was the slowest of the group and lost his foot on some of the holds early on. But he didn't give up, and continued to carry himself to new heights with the rest of the team. Whit, like his son, was also doing quite well. He had lost a lot of weight since coming to the island, and had found he was quite competitive when it came to climbing walls. Regis Blackgaard, who was to his right, was not quite as fast as the two of them and also found himself losing footing along the cliff. One by one the tribe climbed up, firmly attaching their caribbeaner's to the pegs. Jason had lost his grip on one of the hold's, and his father had taken the lead. In fourth place was Jack who was on the far left of the group and carefully plotting each of his moves.

All six of the castaways were finally approaching the last few feet of the climb, with Whit still in the lead. But then disaster struck. Whit took one hand off his rope to attach the end of the caribbeaner to a peg when he lost control. His footing slipped, and he starting falling down the face of the cliff. As he was going down, his foot connected with Jason's face who lost control as well and started falling. Blackgaard heard Whit's cries and with all his strength reached out to grab his hand, pulling Whit towards him. Regis was safely standing on a short platform that was jetting out of the wall, and was able to lift Whit safely unto it.

Meanwhile, Jason was still plummeting towards the ground. He was trying desperately to stop himself from falling by planting his feet on the wall, but he was going to fast. Suddenly, he felt a sudden jerk and he was stopped in mid air. After his head had cleared, he looked up to see what had stopped him. The caribbeaner he had attached before his dad had collided with him was now the only thing stopping him from hitting the ground. Above him, he could hear Whit thanking God for bringing them both to safety, and Jason did the same. A few seconds later they heard a whistle from down below. Jason in a confused state of mind thought it meant the challenge was being called off. But then he heard Jack Allen's voice from the top of the cliff yelling down to him asking if he was all right. Jack had reached the top before the rest of the group, and was wearing the Immunity Necklace.

In just a few seconds, Whit, Jason, and Blackgaard had been knocked out of the competition. Jack was safe from the vote, and those three along with Bernard Walton were being exposed. Who would be the next to go?


Ten days remain of "AIO Survivor". By the end of this month, someone from Odyssey will go home the winner... along with a million dollars. However, there are still two ejection's before the final four, and tonight is one such event.


Six castaways hiked up the path to "Dern's Council". They all had one thing on their mind... who was next? Jack Allen was the only one insured to stay at least another five days, but the others were all very questionable. Of course the most obvious castaway to target would be Dr. Blackgaard, who wreaked havoc on the citizens of Odyssey for many years. However, it seemed he finally saw the light and began to bond with the castaways. He ruined his chances of winning immunity by putting his life on the line to catch Whit, while Jack Allen climbed to victory. Now he felt his days were numbered, surly the fans wanted him gone... but when would that day come?

Jason Whittaker sat down beside Bernard Walton at the fire. Whit was the last of the tribe to enter the clearing, and sat down with the rest of his team while Bryan Dern could be heard coming up the path. A few moments later, Dern emerged from the trees with another of his smiles on his face.

"Good evening all!", he chuckled and rested his arm on a nearby tree, "You all look pretty anxious tonight."

"Well it's not everyday that one of your friends get voted off an island", Jason said and shook his head, "It's been two months. We're sick, tired, hungry and can't wait to get home. But we've made it this far, and I think I speak for everyone when I say we want to go all the way."

Jason", Dern said sternly, "I'm gonna put you on the spot. Who do you think is going to be sent home?"

Jason looked around at his teammates cautiously. He didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, although he had his suspicions. "I don't know", he replied hoping Dern would let him off. But Dern just looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course you don't", he said sarcastically, "But I want you to take a guess."

Jason had no choice, he was feeling uncomfortable but finally gave in. "Alright Dern, if I have to. My guess is Dr. Blackgaard is the next to go. I mean, he doesn't exactly have a perfect track record. He's made some mistakes, and as a human, he will continue to do so. But I'm sure the fans wouldn't-"

"That's enough Jason", Dern cut him off, and chuckled again, "We get the point. However, though close he was, our dear friend Dr. Blackgaard is not going home once again! No, not this time. The title belongs to a very special man, yes gentlemen, without this man you're windows would not be clean, your bathrooms would not smell fresh and you're hands would look like -"

"It's me?" Bernard said, sounding a little hurt, "After all this time! Never would have thought- nope, not in a million years... I don't even know what to do next? I haven't really been paying attention at any of these things, just the odd occasion when you say the persons name and off they go. Well, this certainly is surprising."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah" Dern said trying to rush him along, "Say your good-byes, we don't have a lot of time."

Bernard stood up and shook hands with his fellow castaways. It had been two months since he was in Odyssey, and it was hard to imagine what is was going to be like going back. After a few more minutes, Dern pushed Bernard along... and the six became five, with only one more to go.


Bernard Walton was the most recent castaway to be voted off the island. Below are some of the reactions from the rest of the contestants:

"Bernard's a good friend, and it's been tough these past few weeks losing everyone that I'm very close to. I'll continue to pray for him, and I hope he'll be all right after all that has happened. However, I'm sure Maude is happy that he's coming home after all this time spent away from Odyssey... and so are the people who need their window's washed."

"Just five of us left, and I'm not really sure who's gonna be next. I suppose I'm as likely a candidate as the next, but I'm praying I can last till the final four. I know that Bernard wanted to go all the way, he had made it this far and we had already spent a full two months on the island. What's another ten days gonna mean? Oh well, I hope Bernard's having fun back in Odyssey. We'll all be joining him soon enough"

The final five castaways of "AIO Survivor" were standing on the beach overlooking the ocean. In front of them, arching across the waters, were five wooden planked bridges all leading to a small strip of land. Standing on the small sand strip was a log, with the immunity necklace resting on top.

"Looks pretty simple, 'eh?", Bryan Dern, the host of the show said directing their attention to the necklace, "But looks can be deceiving."

"What exactly do you mean, Dern?", Blackgaard asked in a threatening voice, "What's the catch?"

"Well", Dern replied with a smile on his face, "The object of this challenge is to run across your bridge and be the first person to grab the necklace." He paused and his smile grew wider, "However, these aren't any ordinary bridges. We've rigged several of the wooden planks to fall when stepped on, and thus the unsuspecting castaway will fall into the ocean... eliminating themselves from the challenge."

Dern positioned all the contestants at the foot of each of the five bridges, and then stepped back. "Alright guys, good luck. But I've gotta warn ya... be careful!"

Dern then made sure everyone was ready, and blew his whistle. All the castaways began to sprint down their respective bridges. The weight of the castaways caused the structures to sway from side to side, but they all continued to try and avoid any of the planks that may be rigged. Whit was the first victim of the bridge's trap, as he unexpectedly stepped onto on of the planks and felt the wood slide from under him. But before he fell into the water, he grabbed hold of one of the support beams and lifted himself back onto the bridge. He took a quick second to collect his thoughts, and continued running.

Regis Blackgaard, on the other hand, soon found his fate belonged in the water. He had been sidestepping as many planks as possible, but eventually he stepped down on one of the false planks and began sliding down into the water. After unsuccessfully attempting to grab onto a support beam, he felt himself plummeting into the waters below. Shortly after, just off to his left, he could hear Jason Whittaker's voice let out a small cry for help as he joined Blackgaard in the ocean. Two down, three to go.

Whit was in last place, but trying as hard as he possibly could to catch up to the other two. Jack and Tom had safely made their way over their own rickety planks, and hadn't fallen into the water yet. However, that would soon change as Jack jumped over what he thought was a fake plank, but ended up going right through the bridge and ending up on the other side... the water.

It was down to Whit and Tom. One of them was going to be guaranteed a place in the final four, and the other was going to be made a candidate for the next voting round. They were both nearing the end of the bridge, where the necklace was sitting just on the edge of the log. Whit was gradually picking up speed, and Tom continued to stumble over the weaker boards. In the waters below, Regis, Jack, and Jason were all cheering the contestants on, and the race was coming to a close.

Suddenly, Tom's toe hit the edge of one of the support beams and he crumbled into a heap onto the bridge. Seconds later, he opened his eyes and looked up from the ground. Whit was standing in front of him with his hand outstretched. Tom blinked, and took his hand, and then looked at Whit's chest. Whit was wearing the necklace, he had completed the race... he was going to be in the final four!
