Thaddeus Gumley

Thaddeus Gumley manages the Antique Emporium in Odyssey and screens prospective buyers for its owner. When Jack Allen becomes interested in purchasing the shop, Gumley explains that he must first decide whether Jack is a suitable candidate before arranging a meeting. Jack's experience at a Pasadena auction house and his appreciation for the legacy carried by old objects make the business especially appealing. After Jack and Joanne announce their engagement, Gumley finally schedules an evening meeting with the owner so they can present an offer. His gatekeeping role keeps the owner's identity and decisions at a distance while Jack considers whether buying the shop will make Odyssey his permanent home.
