Princess Michelle is the daughter of King Lawrence of Maris and is promised in marriage to General Darien. The arrangement initially lets her father keep watch over the popular general, but Michelle truly loves Darien. She secretly warns him when Lawrence orders his arrest for treason and helps him escape by placing armor beneath his bedcovers. Michelle agrees to misdirect the royal guards while Darien and Kyle flee through another window. Brave and observant, she risks her father's anger to protect the man she believes should be king. Her loyalty to Darien grows stronger as Lawrence's jealousy makes the palace increasingly dangerous.
