P.D. Barnes

P.D. Barnes is a former orphan and prisoner who becomes a minister because Timmy Riley showed him sacrificial love. As a boy, P.D. was rescued from a bully and welcomed onto the Riley farm. He stole from the family, but Timmy forgave him and explained that Jesus loved him enough to die for him. The next morning their fishing boat overturned, and Timmy freed P.D. from an underwater tangle at the cost of his own life. P.D. carried guilt through years of trouble and jail before Timmy's words changed him. Returning to Odyssey, he tells Tom Riley what happened and begs him to see that his son's death was not meaningless. Humbled and grateful, P.D. devotes his life to sharing the love that saved him.
