Nicholas Adamsworth

Nicholas Adamsworth, sometimes called Nikki, is an eleven-year-old genius in Odyssey. He works as Eugene Meltsner's assistant in the computer department at Campbell Community College. Nicholas came to the college from the state orphanage, and losing his place in its program would mean being sent back there. Richard Maxwell once exploited that fear, forcing Nicholas to alter student grades by threatening him with the orphanage. Eugene chose to protect the boy rather than expose him, and Nicholas repaid that loyalty by telling the truth himself. He is bright but not always wise, and his skill with computers sometimes tempts him into serious mischief. He spends time at Whit's End, where Whit's patience - and one memorable trip in the Imagination Station - helps steer his conscience.
