Mr. Burglemeister

Mr. Burglemeister supervises the computer department at Campbell Community College and becomes Eugene Meltsner's new boss. On Eugene's first day, he explains that the locked security division stores the college's financial records and student grades. He introduces Nicholas Adamsworth, an unusually gifted eleven-year-old in a test program for children from the state orphanage, and assigns Eugene to check the accuracy of recorded grades. When late-night activity appears in the department, Burglemeister begins monitoring the system and brings Eugene before a Board of Inquiry. His careful oversight helps expose serious grade tampering, although Eugene's refusal to explain his actions initially makes the new employee appear responsible.
