Jonathan

Jonathan was the son of King Saul and the closest friend of David. A brave Israelite warrior, he trusted God enough to attack a Philistine outpost with only his armor-bearer beside him. Jonathan could have treated David as a rival for the throne, but he admired David's faith and celebrated his victories. When Saul's jealousy turned violent, Jonathan warned and protected his friend, even at great personal risk. The two men promised lifelong loyalty to each other and to their families. Jonathan's humility allowed him to support the person chosen to rule in his place. His friendship shows courage without envy and gives Imagination Station visitors a model of faithful, selfless devotion.
