Gideon
Gideon is a hero from the Bible whose story is brought to life in Odyssey through its storytelling programs, such as B-TV and Kids' Radio. He lived and died long before Odyssey's time, and appears there only in dramatized retellings. In those accounts he marched just three hundred men, armed with trumpets and torches, against the whole Midianite army - and won a battle he had no business winning. He stands alongside figures such as Moses, David, and Naaman as an example of what obedience really means. His story teaches that obeying God is not shutting off your brain, but acting out of trust and love. It also carries the lesson behind every such victory: the strength was never his own.
