Dan Isidro
Dan Isidro is a missionary serving in Latin America and a longtime friend of Whit's. He rarely appears in Odyssey itself; his work keeps him far to the south, where medical help, money, and even a working vehicle can be hard to come by. His story reached the town through a book about missionary life, which moved young Jimmy Barclay to throw a fundraiser that gathered more for missions than Odyssey had ever seen. Dan travelled to the party himself to say "muchas gracias." He is brave and adventurous by nature. He once joined Whit and Eugene Meltsner on a dangerous hunt in Mexico for the legendary Cross of Cortes. There he faced the ruthless Roberto Cordova and a treacherous guide, Maria Mendosa, and accepted Whit's hard reminder that no relic can save anybody.
